For someone who loves the sea, I sure am terrified of it.
I think that’s the beauty of the sea.
When I was a child, I was fearless. I would ride bikes with my best friend every day. We’d end up in quarries and all sorts in Ireland. I was a big fan of rollerblading and just going super fast or high. Now I get vertigo and it gives me anxiety 😅
I remember going to that man-made beach in Athlone. Was always terrified to get in though. I remember in primary school they made us do an outdoor day and a part of that was kayaking and I remember falling out backwards thinking I was going to die haha. So yeah, not a fan.
Last year I started getting brave putting my foot back in just doing walks along the beach. This year I showed some of the girls a few spots on the island and we had a cute beach day. I don’t know what it was but something on that day told me to get in so there’s me on the right taking a breather before I went further in 🤣 I don’t know how people feel so peaceful because it was the worst thing ever. Constantly hyperviligent of what’s around me, jumping at the sensation of random objects in the ocean (I really don’t like the texture of seaweed), the millennial movies of JAWS ingrained in my brain…
Safe to say, not for me.
I don’t mind being the mom of the group taking photos and guarding the belongings and preparing the food. And absolute pleasure compared to getting in the sea 🤣
I believe the ocean has only been explored 0.001% and I’m just not about that life.
I’ve done yacht, I’ve done staying on land on the beach, I highly recommend bed.
At least I’ve tried it though!
Literally would not have done it without my wing woman. We can go from the city to the sea haha.
Key memories in a wild year. My little pockets of happiness.
Chau for now,
